Volunteer

Peninsula SHRM is a 100% volunteer-led organization, and our success is driven by members like you. Whether you have a few hours a month or want to grow into a leadership role, there’s a place for you to get involved and make a difference. 

Opportunities vary in time commitment and can be short-term or ongoing.

Current volunteer opportunities:

  • Certifications Volunteer - Support the Certifications Chair in promoting SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification and recertification opportunities. Assist with outreach, communications, and coordination of certification study groups, information sessions, and scholarship initiatives that help members advance their HR credentials.

  • Chapter Event Volunteer- Support monthly meetings, networking socials, or the annual PENSHRM Leadership Conference with setup, registration, and on-site assistance.

  • College Relations Volunteer - Partner with the College Relations Chair to strengthen relationships with local colleges and universities. Support initiatives that connect students and emerging professionals to the HR community through events, internships, mentorship opportunities, classroom presentations, and student chapter engagement.

  • DEI Volunteer - Partner with the DEI Chair to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives such as the 21-Day Equity Challenge and Inclusive Excellence Award program.

  • Marketing and Social Media Volunteer - Assist with creating content, promoting events, and supporting digital engagement across marketing various channels.

  • Membership Engagement Volunteer - Assist the VP of Membership with engaging members, following up on inquiries, and organizing Chapter events. 

  • Programs Volunteer - Assist the Programs Chair with identifying engaging speakers, relevant program topics, and coordinating high-quality educational presentations.

  • SHRM Foundation Volunteer - Assist the SHRM Foundation Chair with designing fun and engaging fundraising activities to support the SHRM Foundation and other Chapter initiatives.
